"An artist cannot fail. It is a success just to be one."-Charles Horton Cooley. Children love to draw, paint, and create. If we can take this inhibition that they feel during art and associate it with their other academic areas, what a great change we would see.
My school is in a high poverty area, that being said, geography will not define my children.
My kids are hard working, inquisitive, and loving kids. We work to the best of our abilities each day, trying to conquer the lack of supplies, and other things that may attempt to hold us back. We make each school day count and learn something new each day, and we share that learning with others. We give back whenever we can.
My Project
The materials that I am requesting will allow my students to use art as an outlet for academic success in other areas too. I believe that when my students are able to be creative, they gain confidence that follows them into reading, writing, and math. Using crayons, stamps, Wikki Stix, paper, and other various craft supplies to learn makes it fun, and helps textile learners. Math will be colorful and exciting, our writing will come to life!
My students will be able to see their creative imagination come to life with these supplies.
Math, reading and writing will take on a new life for them. These supplies will allow them to truly become math, reading and writing artists. Art builds confidence and allows everyone to get involves no matter what level they are at. My kids will show everyone what superstars I knew they are!
