This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am excited to share my students' vision for transforming our high school classroom library into a hub that fosters inclusivity and will support in preparing my current and future students for success beyond graduation.

With your support and student input, we can collaborate to curate a library collection that addresses issues that my students face daily like racism, poverty, and a need for support with their development of essential life skills, like effective communication skills, teamwork, financial literacy, and resilience.

I aim to provide students with a safe space where they have access to books in our classroom library that will support in guiding my curious students when it comes to practical life skills, including financial literacy, career exploration, and personal development, as well as providing students with access to literature that explores issues related to race and social justice. Your support will enable us to create a collection that fosters critical thinking, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the world.

By investing in our library, you are investing in the holistic development of our students, preparing them to be responsible, informed, and compassionate individuals in an increasingly diverse society.
