This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our school, creativity isn’t just encouraged, it’s needed. With limited access to art programs, we’re working hard to bring more creative outlets to our students. This iPad and pair of Nike Air Max 1s will be used together in a student-led project where art, storytelling, and self-expression come to life.

Students will use the iPad to digitally design custom artwork for the shoes, exploring illustration, cultural storytelling, and themes that matter to them.

The Nike Air Max shoes will then be hand-painted or customized based on their digital mockups, turning their ideas into real, wearable art.

This project helps fill a much-needed gap in the arts at our school. It introduces students to design tools, builds digital literacy, and gives them a space to express themselves proudly and powerfully. The final shoes can be worn or gifted as part of our student recognition program, motivating students and showing them that their creativity has value. Together, they become a way for students to walk boldly in their identity and creativity.
