This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are creative, curious, and full of ideas—but many of them face barriers when it comes to accessing technology that allows them to express themselves fully. In our classroom, we strive to use multimedia tools to engage students and help them tell their stories, but unfortunately, access to reliable technology is limited for many of them, both at home and in school.

This project will provide an iPad and Apple Pencil for students to use when creating audio and visual projects using programs like GarageBand, Audacity, and Adobe Express.

These tools empower students to produce podcasts, music compositions, digital art, and multimedia presentations. Having a touchscreen and stylus opens up new possibilities for learning and expression, especially for students who may struggle with traditional computer interfaces or typing-based platforms.

The iPad’s portability and versatility make it a powerful tool in a classroom where students work in different modalities. With the Apple Pencil, they’ll be able to illustrate, design, and annotate with precision—skills that are key for developing media literacy and creative communication.

This project will give ALL of my students, regardless of background or income, access to high-quality digital tools that will help them become confident creators and communicators. For students without internet or device access at home, this is more than just a piece of technology—it’s an equalizer and a gateway to opportunity.
