Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students in special education classes thrive when music becomes part of their learning. Many of them face significant academic and behavioral challenges, but music offers a space where they can engage, express themselves, and feel successful. “Empowering Special Education Through Music – Part 2” builds on the progress we’ve made with adaptive and inclusive music tools.

To continue this momentum, I’m requesting:

Boomwhackers – for kinesthetic and color-coded music-making.

A class set of 30 recorders and kazoos – to promote breath control, fine motor development, and creative expression.

6–8 pairs of child-sized cymbals – for percussion practice and sensory feedback.

These tools are easy to sanitize and great for small-group or whole-class instruction. They support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual disabilities, and language impairments by turning music into a multisensory, joyful experience.
