Empowering Positive Choices and Conflict Resolution Skills: Kelso’s Choices

My Project

We are excited to request Kelso’s Choices Curriculum in both English and Spanish to support the social-emotional development of our students. This resource will be a transformative tool for helping our diverse group of learners navigate conflicts, build empathy, and make positive decisions in their everyday lives.

The Kelso’s Choices curriculum will provide our students with a clear, structured framework for handling conflict in a peaceful and constructive way.

learning about the nine specific choices they can make when facing a problem—ranging from talking it out to walking away—students will develop critical problem-solving skills that will serve them well both in and out of the classroom. Having the curriculum available in both English and Spanish ensures that all of our students, no matter their primary language, have access to the same tools for emotional regulation and conflict resolution.

Our primary goal for this project is to create a classroom environment where students feel equipped to manage their emotions and resolve conflicts independently and respectfully. By integrating Kelso’s Choices into our daily routine, we aim to foster a culture of kindness, understanding, and self-awareness. We also hope to empower our students to communicate more effectively with each other, promoting positive interactions and reducing behavioral issues. In the long term, we want to cultivate a community where every student feels safe, heard, and capable of making thoughtful decisions that support their well-being and the well-being of those around them.

This project is more than just about teaching conflict resolution—it’s about giving our students the confidence to navigate their world with kindness, empathy, and self-control. We are deeply grateful for your support in helping us bring Kelso’s Choices Curriculum to life in our classroom, where it will empower our students for years to come.
