This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Girls on the Run and Heart and Sole are programs that inspire girls to be confident and take charge of their lives. Through these afterschool programs, we help girls get a better understanding of who they are and what's important to them.

We meet twice a week and over the course of the program, girls develop and improve competence, confidence, strengthen their character, create positive connections and relationships, and respond to others and oneself with care and compassion.

My students need healthy snacks to eat afterschool so their tummies are full which will help give them a boost of energy before each lesson. They also need water bottles to stay hydrated throughout our workouts and relay race challenges. One of our goals is for each girl to develop positive self-esteem along with giving them the encouragement in developing an "I Can" mindset. These healthy snacks will help to nurture our goals that we have for our girls so they can feel more confidence than ever in who they are and who they are becoming!

By supporting this project, you will help to empower young girls to develop confidence and foster positive and healthy relationships which will overall strengthen the character of our youth.
