This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The books requested are a septology of "Quijote y Yo" written by Constanza Ontaneda. These books will provide my students with engaging and accessible resources to improve their Spanish literacy. The "Quijote y Yo" series will introduce them to a simplified and refreshing version inspired by a classic while focusing on the seven most common verbs in Spanish which makes language acquisition easier and more intuitive.

As part of a series, this book encourages continued reading and development of literacy skills across multiple books.

This approach helps students build confidence in reading while enhancing vocabulary, comprehension, and cultural awareness. My goal is to foster a love of reading in Spanish and to create a classroom library that reflects both linguistic diversity and student interests.

My students are incredibly motivated, curious, and enthusiastic about learning a second language. Many come from diverse backgrounds, and their desire to explore different cultures through language makes them unique. By providing them with resources that support both their language and literacy development, I hope to empower them to become lifelong readers and learners.
