Welcome to our urban magnet school, where diversity thrives. As a dedicated school counselor for grades 9-12, I am committed to providing essential social and emotional support to help our students succeed. This Donors Choose project aims to enhance our school counseling office, creating a safe and uplifting environment for our diverse student body.
Many of our students grapple with ADHD, stress, and anxiety, impacting their ability to concentrate.
Introducing multiple types of fidget items will offer a discreet and effective outlet for restless energy, fostering better focus and engagement during individual meetings and allow them to take these items back to class to help maintain focus.
To cultivate a comfortable atmosphere, posters will not only serve as visual reminders of encouragement but also contribute to creating a positive and inclusive space where students can openly express themselves without judgment.
By supporting this project, you are directly contributing to the well-being of our students. The fidget items will empower them to manage their energy and focus, while uplifting posters will create an environment that fosters a sense of belonging and safety. Additionally, the readily available tissues ensure that our counseling office remains a comforting space for students in need.
