This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our dedicated mental health room, we've curated a selection of tools specifically designed to support students in managing their mental health effectively. This includes a range of educational and therapeutic resources aimed at providing students with both theoretical knowledge and practical strategies. Books like Anxiety Relief for Teens, CBT Toolbox for Children and Adolescents, and The Whole-Brain Child Workbook are integral to our collection, offering guided exercises in cognitive-behavioral therapy and developmental psychology. These materials equip students with effective techniques to handle anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other challenges, enhancing their understanding and ability to manage their conditions.

We also emphasize the importance of creative expression and hands-on activities as essential components of emotional health.

For this, the room is equipped with Ogeely Alcohol Markers and a variety of coloring books such as Cozy Friends and Little Corner, which provide a peaceful escape and a medium for self-expression. Additionally, the Deinduser Bracelet Making Kit allows students to engage in crafting, which is proven to foster mindfulness, reduce stress, and promote a sense of personal achievement. These creative outlets are vital for students to explore and express their feelings in a constructive and relaxing way.

Finally, to ensure the mental health room is a welcoming and safe space, we incorporate comfort items and privacy measures. The Sloth Weighted Stuffed Animal is available for students seeking sensory comfort during stressful times, offering soothing physical support. Privacy is also a priority, reinforced by items like the BUPOfromcn Counseling Office Confidentiality Poster, which guarantees a secure environment where students can feel safe to share and explore their emotions. Together, these resources create a comprehensive and supportive environment where students can access necessary tools to manage their mental health, ensuring they have the support needed to navigate their educational journey and beyond.
