I teach a group of incredible middle school students in special education who face unique challenges in reading and comprehension. Despite these challenges, they show up each day with determination, creativity, and a willingness to learn. My students are special because they approach the world with resilience and individuality, always striving to overcome obstacles.
Reading is a critical skill for lifelong success, yet many of my students struggle with decoding, fluency, and comprehension.
The Rocket Pen Reading Tutors I'm requesting will make a transformative difference by providing them with accessible, multi-sensory tools to support their individual learning needs. These pens will allow students to scan and hear text aloud, practice fluency, and build comprehension skills independently—empowering them to tackle both print and digital text with confidence.
My goal for this project is to provide my students with tools that promote independence and foster a love for reading. These pens are more than just technology; they are a gateway to academic success and personal empowerment. By using these devices, my students will gain the skills they need to access grade-level content, participate more fully in their classes, and build self-esteem as they experience success in reading.
