I need support to enhance my professional development by learning how to incorporate climate data into my math lessons, helping students connect real-world environmental issues with math concepts supporting SDG4(Quality Education) and SDG13(Climate Action).

My Project

As a doctoral student in education, I am dedicated to integrating innovative technology into my teaching practices. A personal laptop will provide me with the tools necessary to access advanced data analysis platforms like Desmos, Google Earth Engine, and Python. With these tools, I can create dynamic lessons that incorporate climate and environmental data into my math instruction. Desmos will allow students to visualize data and graph real-world relationships, while Google Earth Engine offers geospatial data for exploring environmental changes. Python, with libraries like Pandas and Matplotlib, will enable students to analyze complex datasets and model environmental patterns. This technology will help foster a deeper understanding of global sustainability challenges and prepare students to address climate issues through math.

This personal laptop will support SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 13 (Climate Action), enhancing both my growth as an educator and my students’ ability to engage with and solve real-world problems.
