At Capital Preparatory Magnet School in Hartford, CT, our mission is to ensure that every student is prepared for college, career, and life. As a 7th and 8th grade math teacher—and new to teaching geometry—I’m committed to helping my students build the critical thinking and problem-solving skills they need to thrive both now and in the future.
Many of my students come from low-income households and are full of untapped potential.
But with recent budget cuts, our classroom is missing many of the tools that help bring math to life—especially for visual and hands-on learners. From geometry manipulatives to basic classroom supplies, this project will directly support lessons that deepen understanding and boost student confidence.
