Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am committed to fostering a love for reading and enhancing literacy skills among our 25 young learners. I believe that early access to engaging reading materials, both at home and in school, is crucial for their academic growth. With your generous support, I aim to provide my students with a range of essential reading materials, from decodable books to sight word cards, as well as reading response journals. Additionally, I hope to introduce reading buddy stuffed animals, creating a delightful and supportive environment where our children can read to their new furry friends daily.

By providing my kindergarten students with these reading materials and resources, I aim to achieve the following outcomes:

Improved Literacy Skills: Engaging with a variety of reading materials will enhance my students' reading abilities, leading to improved comprehension and fluency.

Encouraging Reading Habits: Having access to reading materials at home and a reading buddy stuffed animal will motivate my students to read more frequently, building strong reading habits that last a lifetime.

Increased Parental Involvement: Sending reading materials home will encourage parents to be active participants in their child's literacy development, creating a stronger home-school connection.

Boosted Confidence: Success in reading through decodable books and sight word cards will boost my students' confidence, making them eager to tackle more challenging texts.

Fostering a Love for Reading: With engaging resources and the support of their cuddly reading buddies, my students will develop a genuine love for reading, igniting their passion for learning.
