This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a special education teacher working with K-3 students, I will use the pen readers to help my students independently access printed text by reading it aloud. This will empower them to engage with content that might otherwise be difficult to decode, fostering independence. The phonics games, word-building activities, and reading comprehension games will offer fun, hands-on opportunities to build foundational skills such as phonemic awareness, spelling, and fluency. These tools will enhance their engagement and prepare them for more independent work in general education settings, while providing greater access to grade-level material and promoting confidence in their reading abilities.
