This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a special education teacher for Transitional Kindergarten (TK), Kindergarten, and 1st-grade students, I am dedicated to creating a learning environment where every child can thrive, regardless of their individual needs. My students often face challenges such as learning disabilities, ADHD, and sensory processing difficulties, which makes hands-on, visual, and sensory-based learning critical for their success. To provide these students with the best learning experience, I am seeking funding for a colored printer, laminating film, and sensory tools, including fidget toys.

A colored printer will allow me to create vibrant, engaging materials such as visual schedules, flashcards, and interactive charts that will help my students better understand and retain new concepts.

Laminating these materials will ensure they last throughout the year, making them reusable for various activities and lessons.

In addition to visual supports, my students also benefit from sensory tools to help with self-regulation and focus. Fidget toys, such as squishy balls, sensory rings, and spinners, provide a necessary outlet for students who need to move or engage in calming activities while learning. These tools will help my students stay focused during lessons, reducing distractions and supporting emotional regulation, which is crucial for their academic success.

With your support, my students will have access to colorful, tactile, and interactive resources that will enhance their learning experience and help them succeed academically and emotionally.
