This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting your support to purchase four Chromebook laptops for our international students. These devices will provide essential access to platforms like Google Classroom and Lexia, enabling students to build strong academic and digital literacy skills. The Chromebooks will significantly improve their ability to engage in lessons, complete assignments, and develop digital competence, which are critical skills in today's educational landscape.

The goal of this project is to ensure that each student has the necessary tools to succeed academically.

Many of our international students face unique challenges, such as limited English proficiency and little exposure to technology. The Chromebooks will empower them to access lessons in their native language, improve their language skills, and practice digital literacy, which is essential for success in school and beyond. By using these devices, students can work at their own pace, receive targeted support, and build the skills they need to be successful in a digital world. This project will also bridge the gap between students with different levels of technological access, providing equity in their learning experience.

My students are incredibly special because they come from diverse cultural backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to the classroom. Many arrive mid-year with limited English proficiency, but they are incredibly resilient and eager to learn. These students are deeply motivated to integrate into their new school environment and thrive despite the challenges they face. By providing them with the tools they need, such as Chromebooks, we can help them succeed academically and feel more confident as they adjust to their new learning environment.
