My Project
My scholars are a lively group of students that live in the beautiful town of Hilo on Hawai’i Island. In a community rich in history and diversity, these scholars have a passion for learning that spans all content areas. They love to learn new things and collaborate together on projects to share with their school community and families.
This project will provides my scholars materials necessary to learn, expand our coding knowledge and take our practice to the next level.
At the beginning of SY 2023-2024, our class will be learning about coding language and concepts through the use of the online website Code.org. With the Dash Robot, students will be able to see the fruits of their hard work come to life as the Dash Robot follows the code they write themselves.
Learning Coding in elementary school strengthens our scholars' critical thinking/problem-solving skills, will help them visualize abstract math concepts, expand their creativity and promote learning in all subject areas.
