Empowering Girls to Love Math Through Hands-On Learning
Help me give my students essential math manipulatives—tools like ten frames, place value kits, number lines, clocks and interactive math games. These hands-on materials allow students to build, touch, and move numbers to deepen their understanding.
I teach amazing first grade scholars at the only all-girls public school in DC Public Schools. Every day, I have the honor of guiding bright, inquisitive young girls who are full of potential and eager to learn. My students are future doctors, engineers, teachers, and leaders—and it all starts with a strong foundation in math.
Many of my scholars learn best when they are actively engaged with math tools, this develops life long confidence and problem-solving skills .
These tools will support small group instruction, math centers, and independent learning, creating a more inclusive and dynamic classroom where every girl can thrive.
