My Project
At our school, a Title I school, our students face many challenges—but their curiosity, especially when it comes to technology, is limitless. Many of our girls have never had the opportunity to see themselves as future coders, engineers, or roboticists. With your support, I hope to change that by bringing five Marty the Robots into our classroom to give girls—and all students—the opportunity to lead, create, and innovate through hands-on robotics.
My classroom is full of bright, creative thinkers—many of whom are girls who have the passion and potential to thrive in STEM, but often lack exposure and encouragement.
Without access to real-world tools and role models, too many girls miss the chance to discover their talents in engineering and robotics.
I want to give them the tools, confidence, and experiences to break barriers and realize that STEM is for everyone—including them.
Marty the Robot is a fun, humanoid robot that makes learning to code and explore engineering both approachable and exciting. These robots walk, dance, and are programmable using beginner-friendly platforms like Scratch—and can grow with students as they learn more advanced coding like Python. With five Marty Robots, I can create inclusive, small-group learning experiences that empower girls to lead in robotics challenges, problem-solving activities, and coding exercises. The Marty project will help students reach the following goals:
Build real coding skills in a hands-on, engaging way
More than half of students from low‑income households
