Empowering Futures! Integrating STEAM and Social-Emotional Learning Through VR Technology
Help me give my students empowerment by preparing them for careers of tomorrow through the development of social-emotional skills as they engage with STEAM concepts using the STEM VR High Tech Kit for SEL!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This donation of the HamiltonBuhl® STEM VR and High Tech Kit for Social Emotional Learning will significantly enhance my 11th and 12th grade students' learning experiences by providing them with hands-on tools to explore STEAM concepts in a dynamic and engaging way! By incorporating broadcasting production products and VR technology, students will learn technical skills that they can take with them after high school but also develop their creativity and critical thinking.
Main goal for the Project: Social-Emotional Development.
This project will foster emotional intelligence and resilience through integrated Social Emotional Learning, helping students manage their emotions and build healthy relationships.
Other goals:
- Equip students with practical skills in animation, video production, and VR game development, which are essential in today’s job market. Learning about these career paths may also ease their anxiety about future decisions on their post-secondary journey.
- Expose students to diverse career pathways in STEAM fields, instilling a sense of hope and possibility for their futures.
- Encourage collaboration and teamwork by involving students in projects that can benefit their community, enhancing their sense of belonging and purpose.
My students are remarkable individuals from an underserved neighborhood, brimming with intelligence, creativity, and potential, yet often lacking access to enriching educational opportunities. This kit will bridge that gap, providing them with the resources to thrive academically and personally. By empowering them with these skills and experiences, I aim to inspire them to become innovators and leaders, proving that talent can flourish anywhere given the right support and resources!
