My Project
First graders are naturally curious learners. They ask questions, seek answers, and—most inspiring of all—support one another in their learning journeys. In my classroom, this inquisitive nature is not only encouraged but amplified through intentional group work and collaboration. Students thrive when given opportunities to engage with their peers, share their discoveries, and learn collectively.
Collaboration is more than a teaching strategy—it’s a catalyst for development across multiple domains.
Social-emotional growth, communication skills, critical thinking, and academic achievement all flourish when students learn with and from one another. Group work is a cornerstone of my classroom culture, and it has proven to be one of the most effective ways to engage young learners in meaningful and lasting ways.
Funding this project will provide vital resources to enhance collaborative learning opportunities in all major subject areas—literacy, math, science, and social studies. More importantly, it will promote equitable access to 21st-century learning strategies that prepare students not just for academic success, but for life beyond the classroom. With your support, we can continue to cultivate a learning environment where curiosity is celebrated, collaboration is central, and every student has the opportunity to thrive.
