Empowering Every Student: Laptops for Counseling Success and Student Growth

Help me provide my students with access to the technology they need to grow emotionally, academically, and socially through engaging, data-driven counseling lessons by supplying 40 laptops that they can rely on in the school counseling classroom.

My Project

Imagine being a student facing emotional, academic, or social challenges, ready to grow, only to lose 10–15 minutes of your counseling session waiting for a classmate's laptop to arrive. This is the daily reality in my middle school counseling program.

As a passionate school counselor, I provide small-group and whole-group lessons focused on social-emotional development, academic skills, and career exploration.

I follow the ASCA National Model, which requires collecting pre- and post-test data to measure program effectiveness. This data is essential for our school's pursuit of the RAMP distinction award, which recognizes exemplary counseling programs.

Unfortunately, the district does not provide laptops for counselors. I rely on borrowing devices from classrooms, which are often unavailable or delayed, resulting in students losing valuable learning time. Without dedicated technology, delivering consistent, engaging lessons—and collecting the data needed for growth—is a constant challenge. I'm requesting 40 laptops to use exclusively for counseling services. These laptops will:

Enable quick and effective data collection.

Facilitate engaging, digital counseling activities and curriculum.

Support seamless delivery of services across individual, group, and class settings.s

Help students build emotional, academic, and career readiness skills in a tech-integrated way.

I serve over 400 students and have personally funded much of our program, including ink, snacks, a food pantry cart, paper, a shredder, rugs, and more. I'm even planning to invest in a snow cone machine to raise money for future needs. However, this time, the cost is too high to manage on our own.

Asking for help is truly my last resort. I usually put expenses on a credit card and make it work later, but I can't afford this one, and I'm desperate for my students to have what they deserve.
