My Project
In my high school math classroom, every student deserves the chance to learn at their own pace, in their own way. I teach at a Title I school where many students face barriers to learning beyond the classroom walls. With the shift toward a Modern Classrooms Project model, my students are engaging in self-paced, mastery-based learning—watching instructional videos, revisiting key concepts, and working independently on personalized tasks.
But to make this model work, students need headphones.
Right now, many of my students try to learn in a noisy environment without the basic tools they need. Some bring earbuds from home, but many don't have any—and even those that do are often using broken or low-quality headphones. With a classroom set of sturdy, comfortable headphones, every student can fully engage with their learning. Headphones will allow them to focus, block out distractions, and access the audio supports that help make complex math ideas more accessible.
This project is about equity. It's about creating a classroom where focus is possible, where language learners can hear instructions clearly, and where every student—no matter their background—has what they need to succeed.
