Empowering ESOL Students with Hands-On Tech for Learning
Help me give my students the resources to be able to read and write, speak and listen in English. These children need your support in order to become successful in an ever changing society.
How will the specific items you’re requesting make a difference in their learning?
The hands-on technology resources I’m requesting will provide my ESOL students with interactive and engaging ways to build language skills.
Many of my students learn best through visual and kinesthetic experiences, and these tools will allow them to actively participate in their learning rather than passively absorbing information. Whether it’s using tablets for language apps, interactive whiteboards for real-time collaboration, or coding kits to build vocabulary through problem-solving, these resources will bridge the gap between language barriers and meaningful learning experiences.
What are your goals for this project?
My goal is to create a learning environment where ESOL students feel confident and empowered as they develop their English proficiency. I want to provide them with tools that support their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in a way that is engaging and accessible. By integrating hands-on technology, I aim to improve student participation, comprehension, and overall academic success. Additionally, I hope to foster a love of learning by making lessons more interactive and culturally inclusive.
What makes your students special?
My students come from diverse backgrounds and bring a wealth of experiences, cultures, and perspectives to the classroom. Many of them are navigating the challenge of learning a new language while also adjusting to a new country, school system, and way of life. Despite these challenges, they are incredibly resilient, eager to learn, and determined to succeed. They thrive when given the right tools and opportunities, and I want to ensure they have the resources they need to reach their full potential.
