Empowering ESL All-Stars!

Help me give my students materials to use at independent centers to reinforce foundational reading skills typically acquired prior to entering kindergarten such as letter naming, initial sounds, and vocabulary enhancements.

My Project

My students have had very little interaction with academic exposure prior to entering kindergarten due to the COVID 19 pandemic. The use of materials to remediate missing foundational skills necessary for first grade will enable my students to fill in those gaps and have a stronger foundation for advanced reading skills in first grade. Having additional materials created for their specific needs will provide more independent center opportunities which will also give engagement opportunities to build social skills. My students come from homes with very little English language exposure.
