My Project

I have amazing, creative, and hard-working third graders. More than half of my students come from lower socioeconomic homes. Many are ESL learners, and many more qualify for special education. I have the best students and want to give them the best! Due to the daily obstacles they face, some find education very challenging. Many come to school without their basic needs being met, making it hard to focus on math, science, or reading. Using a 3-D printer as a tool, my kids can create, explore, learn and solve problems that they face in the real world.

I try to think outside the box to keep my kids engaged and excited to learn.

I plan to use the printer as an extension to the curriculum that we learn during the year and as a motivational tool for students. We can create models of content we are studying. There will also be opportunities to use the 3-D printer to support math skills such as fractions, measurement, geometry, and data collection. Students can create their own models as motivation for great behavior too. The possibilities are endless.

By making this project available, my students will have hands on models to engage them and bring learning to life as well as motivate them to do their best and encourage them to excel.
