My primary goal is to enable non-verbal and minimally verbal students to communicate effectively and provide them with the opportunity to participate fully in their education.
My objectives include:
• Enabling students to initiate and maintain meaningful and functional communication across educational settings.
• Decrease behaviors associated with the frustrations of being unable to communicate effectively.
• Promoting self-awareness and self-determination skills, including the use of AAC tools and accommodations.
• Leveraging instructional and assistive technology to access information, participate in computer-based activities, and communicate with peers and teachers.
• Enhancing problem-solving skills for personal, school, community, and work-related challenges.
• Developing appropriate social skills and strategies for interacting with peers and adults.
• Meeting Florida state standards related to communication, self-advocacy, and technological proficiency.
