This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is a Title I school, where a large percentage of our students come from low-income families. As a mental health professional, I work tirelessly to support the social-emotional development, mental health, and academic success of our students. However, the demands of managing multiple caseloads, coordinating services, and communicating with teachers, parents, and community partners can be overwhelming without the right tools.
Currently, I do not have a reliable laptop to effectively manage my tasks.
This makes it difficult to keep track of student progress, set up virtual meetings, and create the resources that our students desperately need. With a new laptop, I would be able to work more efficiently, stay organized, and provide better support to my students.
How This Laptop Will Help:
Improved Access to Resources: A laptop will allow me to access educational materials, counseling tools, and online databases for students who need mental health resources.
Efficient Communication: I will be able to better communicate with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in our students' lives through email and video conferencing.
Counseling Programs: I will be able to run virtual support groups, track student progress, and create personalized action plans for students in need.
Academic Support: It will also help me create and share academic resources, materials, and reminders with students and teachers, contributing to their overall success.
This laptop will directly impact the lives of the students I serve and allow me to be the best counselor I can be for them.
