My students come from a variety of places, cultures, and viewpoints from our region. Our students embody passion, and are constantly striving to engage in the world around us, and develop ideas and work that can better our world. The effort they take to change our world and be empowered inspires me every day.
As artists, my students are excited and eager to develop their voices and visual communication skills to connect and present their ideas to our community, within our school, and at large in our region.
Art is a common language that not only defines humanity at its essence, but it can be and should be accessible to everyone. All students can have a voice and a place in art.
My Project
This printmaking kit will allow students to investigate and explore making art in a completely new way. Having access to these materials throughout their artistic careers will help them develop a wider breadth of skills and an artistic voice with more depth and intricacy of meaning.
Students can investigate and explore paint, collage, and printing works using multidimensional approaches to materials and meaning-making.
The most important part of art class at the middle school level is students developing a love of making and a wide range of experiences to create the opportunity to explore their place in the artistic world around them. These printmaking tools would allow our students to do just that.
