My Students

I want to be their champion because they deserve nothing less.
I have been teaching for seventeen wonderful years at an amazing elementary school. Our school is a diverse urban school where all students receive free or reduced-price lunch. I am honored to be a second grade teacher who has the opportunity to touch the lives of these precious youngsters. It is my mission that I provide resources for all my students in order for them to be successful.
My Project
Empowering students to read in a variety of ways is very important to me! That is why I am requesting 2 Apple iPads to add to my reading curriculum. My students need opportunities to listen and read texts in multiple ways. iPads will allow my students to participate in small group stations while incorporating technology into their daily lives.
My ESL students will be able to engage in bilingual texts, build vocabulary, and hear and see fluent reading to better understand their second language.
Students will be able to access reading apps, Internet Explorer, and downloaded reading programs purchased through our school. These programs can only be accessed with supportive technology. iPads will help my students take part in these fundamental activities.
