Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Since its inception in March 2024, our Music Club has become a vibrant hub for creativity and collaboration. Generous donations have equipped our students with acoustic and electric guitars, bass guitars, an alto saxophone, headphones, microphones, amplifiers, and more. These resources have built a foundation for students from diverse backgrounds to connect through music.
Our Music Club's growth owes much to the Harbinger karaoke machine I brought from home.
Its 35W output and two-microphone input helped amplify our voices and create a lively atmosphere, attracting nearly 20 students per session—up from just 1-5. However, its limitations are evident: low power, a two-microphone cap, and signs of wear from heavy use. While the Harbinger has been an incredible starting point, it’s time for a system that can meet the needs of our growing, dynamic students.
I am requesting the Yamaha STAGEPAS 600BT Portable PA System to elevate our club. With inputs for four microphones, superior sound quality, and enhanced durability, it will allow students to harmonize, collaborate, and perform in band settings. This tool will expand our jam sessions and rehearsals, inspiring even more engagement and creativity.
Our students bring a wealth of cultural influences—from bachata to jazz to bossa nova—and Music Club provides a space to explore their musical interests while building collaboration and communication skills. The STAGEPAS system will take our performances and creativity to the next level, ensuring our Music Club continues to grow and thrive. Your support will make a lasting impact.
