This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love my students for their resilience, curiosity, and determination. Each child in our school is unique, and many of them face challenges with emotional regulation, sensory processing, and focus. Despite these struggles, they work hard every day to learn and grow. With the right tools and support, they can develop the skills they need to thrive academically and socially.

The sensory resources we’re requesting — such as fidget tools, sensory lights, games, and puzzles — will provide students with the ability to self-regulate and manage their emotions.

These tools will help them refocus when they feel overwhelmed, calm their minds when they’re anxious, and engage more fully in learning. By offering a structured support space equipped with these items, we can reduce disruptions, improve classroom participation, and give students the strategies they need to succeed.

Our goal for this project is to create a safe, supportive environment where students can learn self-regulation, practice coping skills, and return to class ready to learn. By fostering emotional well-being, we are setting them up for long-term success in school and beyond.

What makes our students special is their determination and potential. Some may struggle with traditional learning environments, but with the right support, they can achieve great things.
