Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I entered the teaching profession to serve as a positive role model and to prepare students for a successful future. Last year, my principal invited me to pursue certification in Computer Science and to teach the subject during the 2025–2026 school year. Although transitioning from Social Studies was initially daunting, I embraced the opportunity to introduce students to Computer Science, given its increasing relevance in today’s world.
At my school, not all students aspire to attend college, and I consistently affirm that this is perfectly acceptable.
I view Computer Science as a valuable pathway for students to excel and build meaningful careers without the requirement of a traditional college route.
The items on my wishlist are designed to enhance my teaching effectiveness and classroom efficiency. For example, the HDMI transmitter will enable me to wirelessly broadcast content to the classroom TV from anywhere in the room, allowing me to engage with students more dynamically rather than being confined to the front of the classroom. Additionally, the power strips will ensure that all students can simultaneously charge their Chromebooks, eliminating downtime and charging conflicts.
