Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch, and many live significantly below the poverty line. 83% of my students are Hispanic and 62.6% are English Language Learners. Nearly all are performing significantly below state averages in English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

Technology will allow me to personalized learning for all of my students to help close learning gaps.

It will help me to provide immediate and ongoing feedback. And most importantly, help prepare our students to meet the changing needs of our 21st century global society. It is essential that we adapt our instruction to meet the needs of our students. We must begin to better utilize their preferred mode of learning, the Internet and technology.

My Project

My students love to create, design, and share their learning with others. When my students are able to interact with technology they are empowered and engaged. iPads will provided spaces for my students to share their story with the world. They will allow students to create blogs, iMovies, navigate online resources, and much more. In addition, it will provide support for my English Language Learners through personalize learning activities.

iPads will allow my students to become the marketing and advertising agents of our school!

They will be able to share student evidence of learning and celebrate classroom and schoolwide success!

We need to prepare students to succeed in an ever changing world, and iPads will help make that possible for the students at Rockwood Elementary.
