it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our 5th-grade book club is more than just reading—it's about building understanding, kindness, and connection. With powerful stories like Out of My Mind, Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus, Fish in a Tree, and Hoot, students will explore diverse perspectives and learn to walk in someone else's shoes. These books are hand-picked to spark important conversations around empathy, inclusion, and resilience.
Through guided discussions, reflective journaling, and collaborative activities, students will grow not only as readers and writers but as compassionate members of their community.
Your support will help provide classroom sets of these impactful novels and materials to make our book club a safe space for students to express themselves, build literacy skills, and develop emotional intelligence.
By donating to this project, you're investing in books that change how students see the world—and themselves. Thank you for helping us build a more empathetic future, one page at a time.
