My Project
As a third-year elementary teacher and a graduate student pursuing my master's in education, I’ve come to realize how important it is to prepare students not just academically—but to be curious, empathetic citizens of the world. My goal this year is to help my students build global awareness through monthly lessons that highlight different cultures, perspectives, and global challenges.
I’m developing a year-long global learning calendar that we’ll use to explore topics like identity, environmental responsibility, empathy, and perspective.
Each month, we’ll read a book, engage in a hands-on activity, and reflect on what we’ve learned through discussion and creative projects.
These lessons won’t just help students meet academic standards—they’ll help them become more compassionate, flexible, and open-minded, which are essential skills in today’s world.
