Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These social-emotional learning games and books will help my students that participate in small counseling groups open up to each other and to me. My hope is to build trust as their new school counselor, and to rebuild their support system that may have been stunted or broken down throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our students deserve to have a safe space in my office that they can come to be themselves and have some fun while enhancing their emotional intelligence and growing each day.

Not only will I get to learn about my students through these activities, but they will learn about their classmates and build stronger friendships that begin in my office. The games and activities included in my project will allow students to get to know each other, get to know me, and get to know how best to regulate their own emotions.
