Emotions, Feelings, and Coping in Middle School

Help me give my students visual reminders of their feelings and emotions and coping skills to use with those feelings.

My Project

I teach at a lower socio-economic middle school in which we have put a great emphasis on helping these pre-teens understand their emotions and find healthy ways to cope and handle those emotions.

I have found that visual references that everyone can refer back to in the moments of the big feelings greatly help students to remember and use those coping strategies.

Until they are more fluent in identifying their emotions and how they might look and the best ways to cope with those feelings, I would like to provide them with colorful and engaging charts and posters that we can direct them to using.

It is especially important that we provide these resources in Spanish as we have many English Language Learners and I would prefer not to have them left out of these resources because they are not able to read the English-only posters.
