We are located in a classroom with zero storage and zero personality. As an educator it is hard to provide the necessary supplies when there is absolutely no storage available. Our Classroom is a cream odd shaped box with nothing to help the situation.
We are the EGC or Emotional Growth Center located in a high school setting, where we work with Behavior students that have experienced severe trauma and are just learning the coping skills to get through the day.
In most cases we are the safest place for our students to learn to thrive. Thriving means, having a place to get the necessary supplies to get through the day from educational supplies, hygiene on every level and food. we have no storage to speak of to keep things stocked and ready. We use our own small budget and money from our pockets to buy as we can, but are hoping to get supplies in bulk once we get the necessary storage.
We also are trying to create a space that our students feel supported and cared for. A blank box is not conducive to a thriving community of safety. With all our funds going to basic survival supplies, just a few items for the wall will help bring some more life to our program. Thank you for your consideration.
