Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are an amazing, eclectic group of children, coming from all walks of life. Many are from socio-economically challenged homes, and many are from migrant families. Almost the entire school is low-income. However, they work hard and try their best to be here every day. They all support each other and strive every day to be successful. And they are!
Despite humble home lives, these students are ready every day to tackle their learning with rigor and excitement.
My Project
I am requesting Growth Mindset books (Feelings Ninja, Emotional Intelligence Ninja, Love Ninja), Book about good choices (What Would Darla Do? and What Would Danny Do?), a class set of gratitude journals, stress balls and pop-it fidget tools to help students with their emotional stamina and focus. During 3rd grade many students experience growth, physically and emotionally. Working on maintaining positive emotional growth is essential to being successful in school. These books can give them tools to help facilitate that as well as physical tools to help alleviate any negative stress they feel while learning.
Having healthy emotional intelligence along with academic stamina, students can be successful in school.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
