My Project

I have learned in my many years of teaching that you cannot help a child when their emotions are on high until they calm down. I have been given a great opportunity in my teaching career to help these kids. I am requesting items such as social-emotional blocks and fidget toys so I can create an area where students can find items to calm themselves down. This will allow a teacher to speak with them, helping them understand the emotion they are feeling and learn from it.

I believe that if we teach these kids how to understand and manage their highs and lows, then we will be setting them and our community up for success.

Children want to be loved and understood; they sometimes need help to understand what is going on.
