My Project

I recently became the librarian at a Pre-6 elementary school. I have been trying to create two new sections in my library: an easy fiction section and an easy non fiction section. These two section are targeted to our emerging readers. The books in these new created sections allows emerging readers to confidently pick up a book and know they should be able to read it with ease. I want all students to feel success in reading, so these sections allow all students despite learning level the ability to read a book.

Easy non fiction and fiction sections were created to meet the diverse interests among our students.

Students love non fiction books as much as fiction, so it was just as important to me to create an easy non fiction section as well as a fiction. Our emerging readers need access to non fiction texts and subjects as well. This project has selected books to help continue the expanse of these sections in our library.
