This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have many challenges at home that make it hard for them to advance in their learning at school. The school is located in a low socioeconomic community. Even with all these struggles at home, the students always come to school ready to engage in their daily activities. In addition, due to the lack of classroom supplies and technology equipment, they are unable to enhance and reach their academic goals.
My students attend a Title I school in Miami, FL.
Many of them are being raised in single-parent households. These students are in great need of school supplies.
I want to provide them with plenty of opportunities to excel academically and personally.
My Project
In my city, there are cold days from January to March and many students do not have jackets to keep warm. Having jackets will not only allow students to keep warm in cool climates. Having the needed uniforms will allow students not to worry about how they will remain warm. Often times, students walk to school with a hoodie and nothing more. Adequate clothing at different times of the year is a need that sometimes gets ignored. However, with your contribution, my students will have what they need to be comfortable and warm in school.
