In our ever-evolving digital world, computer science is a crucial subject for today's students. Beyond learning to code, we want our students to understand the practical applications of computer science in real-life scenarios. By incorporating an embroidery machine into our curriculum, we can teach students how to utilize code to design intricate graphics and bring their creations to life through embroidery. This innovative approach will not only engage students but also encourage them to see computer science as a versatile and creative skill.
This machine will be the cornerstone of our project, enabling students to see their code transform into beautiful embroidered products.
Expected Outcomes:
Enhanced computer science skills through practical, hands-on experience.
A creative outlet for students to express themselves through coding and art.
Increased interest in computer science as students see its real-world applications.
Potential for cross-disciplinary projects, such as custom clothing and branding for school events.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
