I am endlessly inspired by the unique qualities and boundless potential of my students. What I love most about them is their capacity for empathy, kindness, and resilience. Every day, they bring a sense of warmth and inclusivity to the classroom, creating a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and respected. Their willingness to embrace diversity and celebrate each other's differences not only enriches our learning community but also serves as a reminder of the power of compassion and understanding.

Palacio to my students offers a remarkable opportunity to foster empathy, compassion, and critical thinking skills. Through the poignant story of Auggie Pullman, a boy with facial differences navigating the challenges of middle school, my students will explore themes of acceptance, friendship, and the importance of kindness. By delving into Auggie's journey and the perspectives of those around him, my students will gain a deeper understanding of empathy and learn valuable lessons about the impact of their words and actions. "Wonder" not only enhances literacy skills but also nurtures essential social and emotional competencies, empowering my students to become thoughtful, compassionate individuals who embrace diversity and advocate for inclusivity in their communities.
