Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Using the classroom library of books related to Hispanic heritage, I will promote cultural understanding, cultivate empathy, promote critical thinking, and empower our students to become compassionate and informed global citizens. Students will explore various aspects of inclusivity, such as different cultures, identities, abilities, and backgrounds. These books will be prominently displayed in our classrooms to create a visually engaging and inclusive learning environment. This display will serve as a constant reminder of the values of diversity and acceptance. I will design comprehensive units of study around these books, ensuring that they align with our curriculum and educational objectives. These units will enable our students to engage deeply with the themes of inclusivity.
