Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students are going to encourage them to learn about cultural diversity. In my Spanish classes we focus on learning about the cultural diversity of all the Latin Spanish speaking countries. Each country is very rich in their unique culture. To help my students understand the cultural perspective of each Spanish speaking country we will be creating art projects. Each project will be very meaningful to the students because they are going to embrace different cultures through art. For example, for Día de los Muertos the students will be drawing a skull or a Catrina. For Hispanic Heritage Month, the students will be learning about different painters such as Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, and Pablo Picasso. The students will be drawing some of their famous paintings using the writing tools and paper. Each cultural celebration is more fun with art. For these reasons I am requesting the notebooks, laminating, and writing supplies.
