Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a diverse neighborhood. They are all eager learners despite the many challenges they may face. They come from diverse backgrounds, both economically and culturally. I am proud to say our school is all inclusive, and we celebrate the diversity of our students to the max.
Many of our families are first and second generation immigrant families who are new to the country, planting seeds for their own success and for future generations to come.
Education is a top priority, regardless. Invest in our future! We will all benefit!
My Project
Art is a great way to integrate social studies. With the supplies donated, I hope to give my student a different way to show what they learned and how they make sense of historical events through their eyes.
Art is the vehicle that enriches other content area.
With this project, I hope the students have a better understanding of life during the Mexican Era in California. In addition, I anticipate to see how my student express what they learned in their art pieces to reflect how they see how events in history impact their surrounds.
