This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology, specifically ipads are influencing and transforming all areas of learning in the classrooms. Help me transform the different ways in which I can teach my students and my students can learn.

My students are first graders attending a school located in a low socioeconomic area in Los Angeles.

They are in a dual language class, in which they are learning two languages at the same time. There are 9 boys and 10 girls between the ages of 6 and 7. My students are full of energy and are eager to learn new concepts everyday. Even though a lot of times, because of economic hardship, their parents have two jobs to be able to support their family. A lot of times lacking the financial resources to buy their kids the technology needed to keep up with the demands of education.

My Project

Lately, there has been a significant shift from traditional teacher-directed instruction to student-centered learning activities that promote interactive engagement, individual responsibility, and self-assessment. Utilizing iPad technology, I will have the ability to integrate these student-centered learning activities into my students curriculum. Technology has always played an integral role in education and continues to change the classroom environment. Providing an ipad for my students will make learning more interactive, efficient and accessible to all my students.

Please help my students engaged and learn in a digital environment that reflects the world in which they are growing up.

This ipad will give my students an abundance of educational apps that can help my students grasp new concepts and give them an infinite amount of opportunities to learn.
